Fairfax Station Information

Fairfax Station, Virginia, is located 3 miles south of Fairfax City.  It is located close to the old railway station that used to service the City of Fairfax, which is how the community got its name.

Fairfax Station is located at the intersection of Route 123 and the Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100).  It is close to the Burke VRE Station and several slug lines are close by if your daily workday destination is the Pentagon.

In the subdivision of Fairfax Station, built in the early 1980's by several different developers, there are about 500 single family homes, all on lots at least a half an acre or larger.  There is a private pool and tennis club inside the community.  Memberships to the pool and tennis club are offered outside of the Homeowner's Association, and membership fees and dues are paid directly to the club.

There is also a scenic pond ("Pickett's Pond") located off Havenner Road inside the community on a common outlot.  There are also several large tracts of woods dedicated as outlots.  It's more common than not to find a house in the community that backs to woods.  Most of the lots are at least half of an acre, and many are actually larger.

The houses are varied, but most have at least four bedrooms, 2 and a half baths, and a two car garage.  The neighborhood common areas are nicely landscaped, and the streets are wide enough for residents and guests to easily park their cars without obstructing traffic.

The public schools are as follows:  Oak View Elementary, Frost Middle School and Woodson High School.  George Mason University is located just a couple of miles away up Route 123.

Shopping is conveniently accessible in nearby Burke, Fairfax City, or in Fair Oaks.
